Imre is a US-educated entrepreneur-financier. Right after his 5-year studies at Cornell University, he joined Lehman Brothers for 5 years as securitization underwriter and VP. Upon his return to Hungary in 2003 he founded Hild Life Annuity and subsequently OTP Life Annuity with a combined market value of $200 million. After that Imre was the Entrepreneur In Residence at Primus Capital where in 2012 he founded and led iCatapult, a Budapest based tech startup business development, and acceleration company.
Imre is strongly involved in many facets of the Hungarian innovation startup ecosystem. He has been a mentor for SeedCamp, EU Unlimited, Balkan Venture Forum, Startup Bootcamp, StartupLive and MIT Mentor Labs. As manager of the Startup division of Hungarian Innovation Federation, he often works with the Hungarian government on an ecosystem and venture capital issues. For the bigger part of 2015, he managed the largest Hungarian acceleration program at Digital Factory. Imre has been involved with 23 startups, in different capacities, mostly in the ICT domain. In the Spring of 2016, he founded Global Traction, a startup facilitator company which helps startups with training, capital and network to become truly global. Right now Imre is heading up the first International Market Access program geared exclusively towards startups in which startups can learn practical steps to conquer the international markets with success.
